BCS worked closely with BT Imaging and their associated contractors to design a custom electronic control system to drive and manage a Class 4 Laser and its peripheral hardware. The system had to interface a multitude of real world sensors to two national instruments data acquisition (NIDAQ) cards as well as provide multiple low level control loops via an on board FPGA allowing safety critical processes to be carried out independently from the LabView based PC software. These included the lasers interlocking system and operation of the pneumatic lift tray, the former also being largely mechanically designed in house at BCS.

BT Imaging’s LIS-R1 allows unparalleled analysis of silicon wafers, cells, and block samples and was showcased at the 23rd European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition in Valencia being met with much excitement from the within the Industry.
